PRODUCER

Producer:Uses coconut flower nectar sourced from organically certified farms in the Mekong Delta. It is produced under a management system compliant with international certification.

REGION

Production area:Vietnam, Mekong Delta. One of the world's leading growing areas where the climate and soil suit coconut growth, and where a palm-sugar culture of pressing out flower nectar is rooted.

CULTIVATION

Cultivation and processing method:Flower nectar is collected from organically grown coconuts and processed into sugar form by a low-temperature method. It undergoes no chemical treatment, retaining natural nutrients and flavor.

A low-temperature process protects coconut sugar's nutrition and flavor

Coconut flower sugar is a traditional sweetener made by boiling down flower nectar collected from coconut blossoms and crystallizing it. The Vietnam-grown raw material Agriture handles is finished without losing nutrients such as minerals, amino acids, and polyphenols, by processing flower nectar taken from organically grown coconuts with a low-temperature method.

💡 TIPS — raw-material trivia

Coconut sugar is characterized by a rich sweetness different from refined sugar. Because it has a toasty, caramel-like flavor, it is especially suited to applications that put the sugar's own flavor to work in taste, such as baked goods, fermented seasonings, and craft chocolate.

Use cases for commercial coconut sugar

Confectionery and baked-goods makers

As a sweetener for cookies, baked goods, granola, and energy bars, it can be used to replace superfine or granulated sugar. Because it adds a rich caramel flavor and pale brown color, it pairs well with rustic baked goods using whole-wheat flour or nuts, and suits product design that highlights refined-sugar-free, clean-label products.

Beverage makers and cafes

Usable as a sweetening material for coffee, tea, smoothies, nut milk, and vegan drinks. It dissolves well even in hot beverages and adds a toasty, caramel-like sweetness, giving depth to the flavor design of lattes, chai, and plant-based drinks. It is also adopted as a differentiating material for craft drinks designed without white sugar.

Prepared-food and seasoning makers

Usable as a sweetening base for fermented seasonings, sauces, dressings, and marinades. It can add richness and sheen in place of sugar or mirin, pairing well with recipes seeking deep sweetness such as teriyaki sauce, BBQ sauce, and ethnic seasonings. Because it adds color, it shines especially in dark-colored sauces and sauces.

Health foods and low-sugar products

Usable as a sweetening material for low-sugar sweets, diet foods, sports nutrition foods, and protein bars. Because of its background as a mineral-containing unrefined sweetener, it suits raw materials for naturally-oriented products.

OEM and naturally-oriented products

Holding international organic certification, it can also be considered as a raw material for organic-designed OEM products. Because the raw material is simply organic coconut flower nectar, it is a sweetener easy to build into brands with narrative appeal such as additive-free, plant-based, and fair-trade.

Blended teas and craft coffee

Usable as a sweetener for blended teas combined with dried flowers and herbs, or for craft coffee that makes the most of a caramel flavor. Because a small amount adds a gentle sweetness and toastiness, it suits cases where you want to give a sugar-free drink a sweetness other than sugar, or combine it with distinctive tea leaves like chai or rooibos.
