Asparagus powder

Domestic Asparagus Powder is a commercial vegetable raw material made by low-temperature drying asparagus harvested through domestic contract farming, with grinding handled end to end at our own processing facility in Kyoto Prefecture. Without glucose, coloring, or antioxidants, it retains in the powder asparagus's inherently fresh, green flavor and vivid green color. It's a raw material we often get inquiries about for food development that wants to make the most of both color and nutrition — soups, potages, green-juice drinks, smoothies, confectionery dough, baby food, and more. We also handle prototyping from 1 kg of raw material. For consultations on dried vegetable and powder OEM herePlease let us know your intended use and desired specifications from

Three points of pride in Agriture's asparagus powder

01 A low-temperature design that retains asparagine and vitamins

The asparagine, B vitamins, folate, and vitamin K in asparagus are nutrients easily lost in high-temperature drying. Agriture uses low-temperature hot-air drying that keeps the product temperature around 40°C, finishing it with a profile that retains the nutritional components and vivid green in the powder while releasing only the moisture.Vegetable & herb powder listYou can also consult us about blending with other materials from

02 An ingredient design using only domestic raw material, with zero additives

We use only domestically contract-grown asparagus as raw material, finishing it without adding any glucose coating, coloring, or antioxidants. It's a specification that pairs well with the product design of health foods, green-juice drinks, and smoothie brands whose concept is "domestic raw material only" and "additive-free."The nutritional value and benefits of vegetable powder.

03 Small-lot prototyping from 1 kg of raw material and comparison sampling

Features of commercial asparagus powder

100% domestic asparagus

The raw material is only domestically contract-grown asparagus. Because variety, lot, and harvest time can be traced, it's a specification easy to use in product design involving raw-material origin certification or origin appeal.

Retains asparagine and vitamins

Low-temperature drying curbs the loss of asparagine, B vitamins, folate, and vitamin K, finishing it into an ingredient easy to use for nutritional appeal as a raw material for green-juice drinks, smoothies, and health foods.

Vivid green color

Through low-temperature drying and short-time grinding, the green derived from asparagus remains even after powdering. It's an ingredient suited also to development projects that want to convey "asparagus-ness" visually in potages and sweets.

Zero additives, no coloring

Glucose, dextrin, antioxidants, and colorants are all unused. It is a specification well suited to the PB development of additive-free brands that want to keep the ingredient labeling simple.

Year-round supply capturing the spring-to-early-summer peak

By drying and processing in bulk the raw material harvested in spring to early summer, asparagus's peak season, and powdering it, year-round supply becomes possible. It's a setup usable not only for seasonal products but also as a raw material for standard products.

Commitments to variety, grower, and growing region

The asparagus used in Agriture's asparagus powder is sourced directly from domestic contract-growing farms. Because asparagus's peak season concentrates from spring to early summer, adjusting the harvest timing is essential to securing it stably as a processing raw material. Agriture sources raw material dedicated to processing in bulk during the peak season and, by drying and processing it, makes year-round supply as a powder possible.

BRAND

Variety: Uses mainly green asparagus. Drying the tips through the stalks as one, it retains the nutritional balance of each part in the powder. We can also handle prototyping consultations with white asparagus.

PRODUCER

Producer: Sourced directly from domestic contract-growing farms. By having them harvest ones of a size and freshness suited to processing and ship them the day of or the day after harvest, we secure highly fresh raw material.

REGION

Growing region: Working with major asparagus growing regions such as Hokkaido, Nagano, and Kyushu. We source in bulk during the spring-to-early-summer harvest season and, by powdering it, build a year-round supply setup.

CULTIVATION

Cultivation method: With managed cultivation that keeps pesticide use low,

Low-temperature drying technology and quality control

Because the asparagine and B vitamins in asparagus are water-soluble, drying it all at once at high heat breaks down the cells and makes nutrients leach out easily. Agriture uses low-temperature hot-air drying that keeps the product temperature around 40°C, drying the cell tissue gently to retain the nutritional components and green color development. Grinding is done right after drying, structuring the process to keep color and flavor fresh by shortening the time in contact with oxygen.

Manufacturing takes place at our own processing facility within Kyoto Prefecture, with consistent management from raw-material acceptance inspection through shipment. We fill it hygienically through a foreign-matter-removal step, and for OEM projects issue necessary documents—specification sheets, raw-material country-of-origin certificates, microbial test reports, and so on—after consulting on each project.

💡 TIPS | Trivia about asparagus

Asparagus is a vegetable with a high respiration rate after harvest, and left at room temperature it rapidly consumes its sweetness and asparagine. Agriture shortens the lead time from harvest to entering the drying process, an operation that seals a flavor close to fresh-picked into the powder. Being able to use the peak-season taste year-round is asparagus powder's strength.

NEW | Asparagus stem powder

At Agriture we have also succeeded in prototyping a powder using only the asparagus stem (the hard part). The stem has a stronger aroma than the tip, and powdered it gives off a very fine aroma. By using a part that usually tends to be discarded, it also leads to food-loss reduction. Those interested in stem powder,Asparagus-stem powder prototype report.

Use cases and adoption examples

Lead ingredient for potages and soups

As a main raw material for asparagus potage and green soup, this is a use we often get inquiries about. Because just dissolving it in hot water or milk spreads asparagus's flavor and color, it's a specification easy to use as a base raw material for instant soups and freeze-dried soups.

  • Suitable products: asparagus potage, green soup. Because it combines nutritional appeal including asparagine with an easy-to-drink smoothness low in harshness, it's a use for which inquiries from health-food makers are increasing.
    • Suitable products: green-juice blends, green smoothies. Because a fresh green note is added within the sweetness, it's a use we get inquiries about for developing snacks for children and the health-conscious.
      • Suitable products: vegetable muffins, green pancakes, healthy scones
      • Blending guide: 5–15 g per 1 kg of flour
      • Points to note in development: because it discolors easily through oxidation, move to the baking step soon after preparing
    • Coloring and flavoring pasta and noodles

Kneaded into fresh pasta, hand-cut udon, gyoza wrappers, and the like, it finishes into vividly green noodles. Because asparagus's green flavor can be enjoyed along with the dough's springiness, it's a use seen in restaurant PB and farm-stand original noodle products.

      • Suitable products: green pasta, vegetable udon, colorful gyoza wrappers
      • Blending guide: 10–30 g per 1 kg of flour
      • Points to note in development: because the way the color remains changes with boiling time, confirm in prototyping

Raw material for baby food and weaning food

With little harshness and the property of becoming a smooth paste when dissolved in water, it's under consideration as a vegetable raw material for baby food and weaning food. Combined with domestic and additive-free appeal, it's a specification easy to use in developing food brands for babies.

      • Suitable products: baby food, weaning-food pouches, vegetable sticks for infants
      • Blending guide: 1–3 g per serving
      • Points to note in development: many projects require microbiological test documents (issuance available)

Blending with other green vegetable powders

Blended with green powders such as spinach, kale, komatsuna, and broccoli, you can develop an original "green veggie mix."Vegetable powder listwe can propose it in combination with.

      • Suitable products: green-and-yellow vegetable mix, green-juice premix, powder for healthy snacks
      • Blending guide: 10-30% of the whole blend
      • Points to note in development: when using it in potage, first knead it with a small amount of milk or oil so it doesn't clump, then add hot water, and it disperses evenly. For a smoothie, just put it straight into the blender with no problem.

For storage, sealed containers away from light, heat, and moisture are best. After opening, use it up promptly or reduce air contact with nitrogen fill or a zip-top bag to keep the green color development and flavor longer.

        Frequently asked questions

        Q. What is the minimum lot and prototype handling?

        Q. What is the price guideline?

        A. Because domestic asparagus is sourced concentrated in the peak season, the raw-material cost varies by time and lot. The unit price changes with packaging specification and lot size, so please consult us via the inquiry form for an accurate estimate.

        Q. What is the lead time?

        A. When stock is available, we can ship within about 2-3 weeks of order as a guide. For projects involving new sourcing, please plan for a lead time of 4-8 weeks in relation to the harvest season (spring to early summer). For projects where the annual required volume is clear, consulting us the previous year makes it easier to plan for stable supply.

        Q. Can you issue a certificate of raw material origin and an analysis table?

        A. We proceed with issuing, on a project-by-project basis, both a raw-material origin certificate showing it is domestic asparagus and a microbiological test report. We also accommodate the quality requirements of mass retailers, mail-order, and baby food.

        Q. Can it be blended with other vegetable powders?

        A. Yes. From over 60 kinds of vegetable, herb, and fruit powders that Agriture dries and processes, we can propose a blend design tailored to your product concept. We also handle the blend design of green-juice mixes and green-and-yellow vegetable mixes.
