Subsidy for Promoting Productivity Improvement in Manufacturing, Commerce and Services (Monozukuri Subsidy)

The program best matched to food product development, as it may be used for capital investment for new product development (such as introducing drying, processing, filling and packaging machinery). The former JAPAN Brand program has also been merged into it as the Global Market Development track.

Program overview

  • Administering body:Small and Medium Enterprise Agency (National Federation of Small Business Associations)
  • Eligible applicants:SMEs, small businesses, etc. (including food manufacturers)
  • Maximum subsidy:Up to 40 million yen
  • Subsidy rate:1/2 (2/3 for small businesses, etc.)
  • Application period:In rounds (several times a year)
  • Status:Accepting applications
