Subsidy for Sustaining Small Businesses (General Type)

An easy-to-use program as an entry point for starting product development on a small scale, covering prototypes, packaging, trade shows, e-commerce and more. It suits small businesses, individuals and farmers.

Program overview

  • Administering body:Small and Medium Enterprise Agency (Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry / Central Federation of Societies of Commerce and Industry)
  • Eligible applicants:Small businesses (sole proprietors and farmers may also be eligible)
  • Maximum subsidy:Up to 500,000 yen (up to 2.5 million yen under special provisions)
  • Subsidy rate:2/3
  • Application period:Several times a year (in rounds)
  • Status:Accepting applications
