When people think of farmland, many may picture flat land without elevation changes. In fact, in mountainous Japan, about 40% is hilly and mountainous area*1. With sloped terrain and many disadvantages as farmland, the exodus from farming is more advanced there than in other areas. This time, with the aim of supporting farmers working hard in the hilly and mountainous areas of Kyoto, we spoke with Rei Kojima of the dried-vegetable brand "OYAOYA," which adds high value to off-grade vegetables that had not been actively distributed and sells them.
