What is FSSC 22000?
FSSC 22000 (Food Safety System Certification 22000) is one international standard for managing food safety — a certification scheme that combines ISO 22000 with prerequisite programs (PRPs) and additional requirements. Operated by the Foundation for Food Safety Certification in the Netherlands, it's approved by the international food-safety certification system, the GFSI(Global Food Safety Initiative) .
Based on the HACCP approach, it lets you systematically build food-safety management for the whole organization, so it's widely used as a condition of trade for import/export and with major retailers.
