Summary of this article
Agriture has published a page introducing case examples from the dried-vegetable projects it has been involved in so far. It features cases such as dried-tomato production with Kubota Corporation's Beppin Farm, the productization of Wada Farm's "Yarisugi Tomato," the development of dried apple for Ones Daily Inc., and collaborative recipe creation on Kai Corporation's Chefon.

We have created a page introducing a selection of projects our company has been involved in in the past.

Case examples of crop product development

Kubota Corporation

In a collaboration with Beppin Farm operated by Kubota Corporation, we produced dried tomatoes for the company's in-house use, using tomatoes grown at Kubota Farm operated within the Kubota Group.

Overdone tomato

We received the "Yarisugi Tomato" of Wada Farm — who grow tomatoes so concentrated in sweetness and acidity, raised in the harsh environment of Kumihama, Kyotango, that they're called "athlete tomatoes" — and productized them. High-sugar tomatoes are difficult to dry, so we devised the temperature control and cutting methods.

The dried-apple case

Ones Daily Inc.

As part of product development for pets, we processed apples that fell from the tree and became off-standard into a stick shape that both people and pets find easy to eat. Without using sugar, we finished them into a healthy snack that makes the most of the ingredient's natural sweetness. Being a crisp, light stick type, the appeal is that they're easy to give

Oryze Inc.

Under the mission of "fermenting the earth," Oryze Inc. — which manufactures and sells sugar-free, additive-free, gluten-free granola and rice-koji sauces built around rice koji — used our dried apple to develop a limited-time maple & apple granola.

A project using dried vegetables

Kai Corporation

For "Chefon," the online cooking class run by Kai Corporation, we produced videos and recipes for all 8 dishes of "Dishes You'll Want to Eat Once a Week"—advocated by Mikizo Hashimoto, owner of the Michelin one-star "Ichirin"—using dried vegetables with concentrated umami.

Domestic dried vegetables and dried fruit

At Agriture, we work on sustainable ingredient procurement and food-loss reduction—starting with dried vegetables that upcycle off-spec vegetables, along with Kyoto vegetables and heirloom vegetables from various regions.
