A Google Search feature that prioritizes showing your preferred sites has started in Japan

Google has made “Preferred Sources”—a new feature that lets users themselves choose which media and sites they want prioritized in the “Top stories” section of search—available in Japanese as well. Normally, Top stories results are determined by Google’s own algorithm. When this feature is enabled, however, articles from the media and sites a user has registered in advance are given priority in the lineup.

The feature had previously been available only to English-language users, but its scope has now been expanded to other languages, including Japanese.
