We process non-standard vegetables into dried products, powder, soup bases, and more, supporting OEM product development. Ideal for food loss reduction, CSR, and sustainable sourcing. Small-lot prototyping is also possible.

For your new business idea,

We undertake OEM such as drying vegetables and developing products using dried vegetables. We handle high-quality contract processing from small lots to large lots.

Features

A stable sourcing network for non-standard vegetables

Through direct cooperation with contract farmers in northern Kyoto and across the country, we have built a system to stably source non-standard vegetables that cannot go to market due to shape, size, or color. We plan the securing of non-standard vegetables—said to total over 1.8 million tons discarded annually—and provide a supply structure that looks ahead from food manufacturers’ product development through to mass production.

Features

Diverse product development through drying and powder processing

By processing non-standard vegetables into dried products, powder, chips, and more, they can be used as raw materials with enhanced shelf life and versatility. We handle a wide range of product categories to match your brand concept—dried vegetables, vegetable tea, vegetable coffee, soup bases, confectionery ingredients, and more. We design the optimal processing recipe for each ingredient, maximizing product value even from non-standard produce.

Features

Story design linked with CSR and SDGs measures

Using non-standard vegetables is an initiative that embodies social value—food loss reduction, farmer support, and community contribution—as “tangible products.” Rather than merely appealing to image, we design stories that make the growing region, farmers, and processing visible, so they can be linked to CSR reports, integrated reports, and external communications. We achieve both a company’s sustainability measures and enhanced brand value at once.

Product development to suit your needs

We plan and develop original products to match your brand concept, such as dried vegetables, tea, coffee, soup, and novelties.

CSR & SDGs measures

Through story design that makes the growing region, farmers, and processing visible, we support product creation that can be linked to CSR reports, integrated reports, and external communications.

Consultation examples

We want to run a food loss reduction campaign

We were consulted about running a limited-time event during food loss reduction month as part of promotional activities for the company’s own products. We selected dried vegetables suited to noodle dishes and carried out the campaign.

Use in a campaign for purchasers

For a campaign aimed at purchasers of the company’s own products, our dried vegetable series made with non-standard vegetables was selected as the product. Since they are vegetables and use no glucose, they can be used with peace of mind as a gift.

Other patterns of requests we receive

We want to develop a new product using non-standard vegetables

This is a request from a food manufacturer wanting to launch a new product line that appeals to food loss reduction and sustainability. We provide one-stop support from market research, concept design, and prototyping to mass production, achieving product development that leads to enhanced brand value.

We want to incorporate non-standard vegetables into an existing product

This is a request from a company wanting to replace part of the raw materials in an existing product with ingredients derived from non-standard vegetables and advance sustainable sourcing. We propose the optimal raw materials to suit the use—dried vegetables, powder, chips, and more.

We want to create a product linked with CSR and SDGs measures

This is a request from a company wanting to develop a product with a story that can be linked to CSR reports and external communications. We deliver a company’s sustainability message as “tangible products”—trade show novelties, anniversary gifts, gift items, and more.

Our features and strengths

Features

We use non-standard vegetables as raw materials

The dried vegetables we manufacture in-house use non-standard-friendly vegetables sourced from partner farmers in Kyoto. Because the growing region and processing site are close by, we work to process them while they are fresh.

Features

Around 100 items handled

Starting with Kyoto-grown dried vegetables, we handle dried vegetables and heirloom vegetables from all across Japan. We also handle around 10 kinds of domestic dried fruit.

Features

We handle Kyoto vegetables and Japanese heirloom vegetables

We handle dried and powder products of Kyoto vegetables and heirloom vegetables that rarely reach the market, and we can source to suit your requests.

Features

OEM and small-pouch filling available from small lots

Beyond selling the vegetables we handle in-house, we have a structure in place to process raw materials you bring in and to do small-pouch filling for commercialization, from small lots.

Features

Extensive track record in OEM processing and novelties

Having started the business from our own brand, we have handled many OEM and novelty projects. Based on the know-how we have cultivated, we make the best proposals.

How consultation works

Scrollable

Inquiry / materials request

First, please feel free to contact us via the inquiry form or by phone. We welcome you even at the stage of “I want to know what kind of processing is possible” or “I want a rough idea of the price.” After you contact us, our staff will send you materials and take time to hear about your situation.

If you can give us a rough idea of the raw materials you currently have, the product image you are aiming for, and your sales destinations, our subsequent proposals will go smoothly. Please feel free to reach out with the mindset of simply “giving consultation a try.”

Consultation / meeting

Based on the content of your inquiry, we will talk in detail with our staff. Online or by phone, we carefully ask about points such as “what ingredients you want to use,” “what kind of product you want to make,” and “what your sales destinations and expected lots are.” At this stage, it is fine if some things are undecided.

While introducing the ingredients we handle and our processing track record, we will organize the direction together. As needed, we will also present proposals for processing methods and specifications and a quote at this time.

Prototype production / sample shipment

Based on the content of the consultation, we actually produce samples. While adjusting fine specifications such as drying temperature, cut size, and blend ratio, we aim for a finish close to your image. After you review the sample, we repeat prototyping multiple times as needed, incorporating feedback such as “make the texture a little softer” or “make the color more vivid.”

We handle this carefully until the finish is satisfactory, so even those tackling product development for the first time can feel at ease. We will inform you of the prototyping cost in advance.

Full production / product development

Based on the specifications confirmed in prototyping, we begin full production. After finalizing the production quantity, delivery date, packaging specifications, and more, we adjust the schedule. We maintain thorough quality control during production and respond with a consistent management structure so there is no unevenness in the finish. Finished products are inspected and delivered in the specified format.

Even after the first production, we flexibly handle requests for additional orders and specification changes, so we have a structure in place for a long-term partnership. Please feel free to consult us about lot adjustments to match sales after commercialization.

A message from the CEO

To become a presence like a “greengrocer”

Hello, I’m Rei Kojima, CEO of Agriture Inc. Born and raised in Kyoto, what I encountered while studying agriculture at university was the reality of “non-standard vegetables”—produce that loses its place simply for being uneven in shape or size. Vegetables that farmers raised with great care cannot sell at fair prices.

Wanting to face that issue, I founded this company while still a student.

Being in a win-win relationship with farmers. That is our origin, and it remains our unwavering axis today. Giving new value to non-standard vegetables and serving as a “greengrocer” that connects farmers and consumers, we work on the survival of agriculture and food loss reduction.

Details of product development and frequently asked questions

What kinds of products can you develop?

We handle product development across a wide range of categories using non-standard vegetables—dried vegetables, vegetable powder, vegetable tea, vegetable coffee, soup bases, confectionery ingredients, novelty products, and more. From BtoB raw materials to BtoC products and not-for-sale items for CSR measures, we can design products to suit the use.

What is the minimum lot you can handle?

It varies by product category, but dried vegetables and powder can be produced from as little as 1 kg of fresh produce, and tea bags and drip bags from as few as 10 bags. They can also be used for low-risk small-lot product development such as trial sales, trade show samples, and test sales.

How long is the production period (lead time)?

For standard processing and manufacturing, the shortest is about two to three weeks; for original product development starting from the planning stage, it is roughly one to two months as a guide. It varies depending on the product’s complexity, the number of prototypes, and raw material sourcing, so if you have a desired delivery date, please consult us early.

Is stable sourcing of non-standard vegetables possible?

Yes. Through direct cooperation with contract farmers in northern Kyoto and across the country, we have built a planned sourcing structure for non-standard vegetables. By cooperating with multiple growing regions, we can accommodate seasonal fluctuations and provide stable supply that looks ahead from product development to mass production.

Is consultation possible from the planning stage?

Yes. We welcome consultations from the stage of “I want to create a new product themed on food loss reduction, but I don’t know where to start.” We provide one-stop support for the processes needed in product development—market research, concept design, raw material selection, prototyping, and packaging proposals.

Can you design products linked with CSR and SDGs measures?

Yes. Through story design that makes the growing region, farmers, and processing visible, we support product creation that can be linked to CSR reports, integrated reports, and external communications. We propose products that can be communicated internally and externally as concrete initiatives, not merely image appeals.

How is the price determined?

Because the price varies by raw material type, lot quantity, processing content, packaging specifications, and more, we provide a separate quote. If you let us know your desired product image, expected lot, delivery date, and more via the inquiry form, we will send a rough estimate within three business days.
