However, most of the many products circulating in the domestic market are overseas-produced and sugar-added. In fact, \"domestically grown\" and \"sugar-free\" dried fruit is still limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why is there so little domestically grown dried fruit? And what are the product developments and OEM cases that turn that rarity to advantage?<a href=\"https:\/\/agriture.jp\/en\/product\/strawberry\/\">strawberry<\/a>, along with cases that make use of the characteristics of domestically grown fruit such as apple and mandarin, we introduce the spread of OEM development and use in the pet market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" data-thread=\"\" style=\"text-align: \"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/studio-cms-assets\/projects\/9YWyw1reqM\/s-4898x3265_v-frms_webp_21776a8d-56a6-4fb3-93fb-7a96cae4b67c.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"index_XuMNfI1h\">Why is there so little \"domestically grown, sugar-free\" dried fruit?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Much dried fruit is imported from Southeast Asia, the United States, and elsewhere, with sugar and flavoring added after harvest and processing applied to enable long-term storage and mass distribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Domestically grown fruit, on the other hand, has been considered difficult to commercialize for the following reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>High demand as fresh fruit makes it difficult to secure for processing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The harvest season is limited, posing challenges for stable supply<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Processing technology that makes use of natural flavor without relying on additives is needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Japan's popular<a href=\"https:\/\/agriture.jp\/en\/product\/mango\/\">mango<\/a>and others have low harvest yields and high prices<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For these reasons, domestically grown, sugar-free dried fruit is hard to commercialize unless \"processing technology,\" \"sales channels,\" and \"ingredient sourcing\" all come together, making it a highly rare item.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"index_6l4DV5Un\">Health consciousness and interest in natural sweetness<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite being difficult to process and having limited market circulation, interest in \"domestically grown, sugar-free\" dried fruit is steadily rising. Behind this is rising health consciousness and a change in consumer needs seeking the flavor of the ingredient itself and a sense of reassurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Foods that can be enjoyed with \"natural sweetness\" rather than artificial sweetness or additives have come to gain support, and dried fruit is also shifting its positioning beyond the frame of preserved food and snacks to a<strong>sweets ingredient<\/strong>and<strong>and a<\/strong>guilt-free snack<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">. In fact, dried fruit has come to line the shelves not only of urban select shops and organic stores but of convenience stores, and opportunities for general consumers to see it have increased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" data-thread=\"\" style=\"text-align: \"><a href=\"https:\/\/agriture.jp\/en\/dry-fruits\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/studio-cms-assets\/projects\/9YWyw1reqM\/s-1280x720_v-fms_webp_1613b8c9-e797-469e-9b1c-3a7b17871c2a.jpg\" alt=\"\u56fd\u7523\u306e\u30c9\u30e9\u30a4\u30d5\u30eb\u30fc\u30c4\" width=\"\" height=\"\"><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"index__O_dFpx4\">As an ingredient that can respond to such market changes, domestically grown dried fruit is being reappraised, and it can become a new angle for product development for restaurant and food manufacturers too.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Examples of domestically grown ingredients suited to dried fruit<strong>What is important in commercializing \"domestically grown, sugar-free\" dried fruit is<\/strong>the quality of the ingredient, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">whether it has sufficient sweetness, aroma, and color. Within Japan, there are many fruits that meet these conditions while also having regional character and brand strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" data-thread=\"\" style=\"text-align: \"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/studio-cms-assets\/projects\/9YWyw1reqM\/s-3000x2000_v-frms_webp_d529bc6c-321d-478d-9e15-8e5fa553350d.jpg\" alt=\"\u4eac\u90fd\u7523\u306e\u30c9\u30e9\u30a4\u68a8\" width=\"\" height=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"index_u6MnBzkq\">Dried pear<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We introduce our own dried fruit cases using fruit that can also be harvested in Japan. All are raw materials that can compete on \"Japanese-ness,\" and in BtoB OEM product development, appeal tailored to the application and target is possible.<strong>Pear has a strong image of being juicy, but in fact by drying it<\/strong>the sweetness concentrates and it changes to a moist texture<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">. Green-pear-type varieties in particular (e.g., Gold Nijisseiki) have a refined acidity and gentle sweetness coexisting, and beyond being eaten as slices, are drawing attention as a pairing ingredient for appetizers and cheese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/agriture.jp\/en\/product\/pear\/\" data-has-link=\"true\" rel=\"noopener\">It is a highly rare dried fruit ingredient that can be developed for dessert and appetizer uses even without sugar.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" data-thread=\"\" style=\"text-align: \"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/studio-cms-assets\/projects\/9YWyw1reqM\/s-4898x3265_v-frms_webp_68e6bc4d-8702-40a2-8d06-0632e835f5d1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"\" height=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"index_G_ioeP3Q\">Dried apple<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">See product information for dried pear here<strong>Domestically grown apples from Nagano and Aomori have a good balance of sugar and acidity, and<\/strong>can maintain a rich aroma and refreshing flavor even after drying<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">. Processed with the skin on, they can also appeal to polyphenol intake, and are popular in the natural-oriented confectionery, bread, and beverage fields.
